Dicentra spectabilis

I still have many belated bloom shots to resize and post but I wanted to get this one up quickly 'cause I like how it turned out. Photo taken in Central Park, May 11, 2009.

Dicentra spectabilis
-commonly called bleeding heart (you can see why)
-perennial native to Japan, China, eastern Russia
-sun to dappled shade
-good moisture, organic rich soil
-2-3' tall and wide over time
-hardy is USDA Zones 6-9
-native alternative is Dicentra formosa, wild bleeding heart
